I mind my business, let work speak for me – DJ Neptune
Popular disc jockey and music producer, Imohiosen Patrick , better known as DJ Neptune , says it is a mystery to him that one of his songs ,
Nobody, is still enjoying a lot of attention seven months after its release .
In an interview with Sunday Scoop , DJ Neptune , also stated that though he is an entertainer, he prefers to live a quiet life . He said, “ I am a private person and only allow my work to speak for me . I am not a shy person like people think but I like to mind my business. I just want my reputation to speak for me . I don’ t think my life contradicts my profession because I have been in the music industry for 19 years and it has never been a problem for me . My fans love Neptune the performer , artiste , producer and DJ . I only try to separate my personal life from my job because I’m just not a loud person . However, I have always loved to dress very well , but people don ’t notice because I am not everywhere . ”
Speaking on why he featured Big Brother Naija ( Lockdown Edition ) winner , Olamilekan Agbeleshe, aka Layco
n , in the remix of Nobody , Neptune said, “ Laycon was one of my favourites in the just concluded BBNand when I went to congratulate him on stage after he won , he told me he wanted to work with me . Around that time , I was about to wrap up work on this song so I decided to feature him . While he was in the house , he liked the song . People wonder why I did the remix but there are different versions of the song worldwide . It has Latino , French , Hausa, Igbo and other versions . The remix featuring Laycon is just one of the 12 -track extended playlist that would be released later in the month.
The song is actually special to me . It entertained music lovers during the COVID - 19 lockdown period and it has just refused to fade away . It has been seven months since the song was released but it is still making waves with over 21 million views on
YouTube .”
